Appearance & performance

Your new site might look beautiful, but does it have the technical oomph to perform well on Google and drive results?

It’s easy to get caught up in fun aesthetic details that enhance your digital storefront. But it’s the UX design and technical search engine optimisation behind it all that drives real results – there’s little point in a shiny new site that can’t be seen on Google.

Thankfully, our highly experienced team of website designers and SEO specialists will collaborate to deliver your business’ best online results yet.

Our process for

Smooth website migrations

1. Consult & research

First, we’ll need an understanding of the new website structure and any technical changes from the old website. We’ll book a meeting with your stakeholders to discuss necessary SEO elements and project timelines.

2. Migration plan

Once you’ve decided on the structure of your new sitemap, we’ll create a redirection plan for any URLs that have changed. We’ll also take a back up of Google Analytics and Google Search Console data to inform post-launch performance insights.

3. Content & technical

There’s always a few final tweaks to make to the staging site. Once all content and data is uploaded, we’ll complete a site audit for any content or technical updates that might affect SEO rankings. We’ll work with our web development team to ensure the redirection plan and tracking codes are implemented.

4. Launch & assets

The fun part! We’ll launch your new website live, submit it to Google and run a few tests. These first few weeks of data are critical, so we’ll provide a post go-live report with insights into your new site’s performance.

A website migration is a process to change its setup or technology. It involves serious changes to the website’s platform, structure, content, location or design.

The most common reasons for migrating a website include:

  • Changes to the site’s structure, navigation and design
  • Moving to a new Content Management System (CMS) like WordPress
  • Creating a mobile version of the site
  • Implementing a HTTPS protocol
  • Switching website hosting provider
  • Changes to the domain name

That depends on the kind of redirect we’re talking about. Redirects are a way to link content within your webpage. 301 redirects, where a page has been moved permanently, are the best kind for SEO purposes, as they keep between 90-99% of the original page’s ranking power or link equity. 302 redirects, on the other hand, involve a temporarily redirected page and keep less link equity in comparison.

The amount of time it takes to migrate a website depends on the complexity of the site and the amount of data being transferred. Some migrations can take up to 3 hours, but most migrations take an average of half an hour.
