Make way for WordPress!
Say goodbye to Business Catalyst
In March 2018, Adobe announced that Business Catalyst was being decommissioned. Essentially, Adobe will stop hosting existing sites on Business Catalyst as of September 26, 2021.
That’s going to creep up pretty soon! Now’s the time to plan ahead and migrate to a different content management system for your website.
Bear in mind that search engines can often handle new site designs oddly. But with Redback, you needn’t fear. Our process will make sure your new site hits the Google ground running. If your site is currently being hosted on Business Catalyst, we can migrate and host your website.
Our process for
Smooth WordPress migration
1. Consult & research
First, we’ll develop an understanding of the new website structure and any changes from the old website. We’ll book a meeting with your stakeholders to discuss necessary SEO elements and project timelines.
2. Migration plan
Once you’ve decided on the structure of the new website sitemap, we’ll create a redirection plan for any updated URLs. We’ll also take a backup of Google Analytics and Google Search Console data to inform post-launch performance insights.
3. Content & technical
There’s always a few final tweaks to make to the staging site. Once all content and data is uploaded, we’ll complete a new site audit to identify any content or technical updates that might affect rankings. We’ll also ensure the redirection plan and tracking codes have been implemented.
4. Launch & assess
The fun part! We’ll launch your new website, submit it to Google and run a few tests. These first few weeks of data are critical, so we’ll provide a post go-live report with insights into your new site’s performance.
WordPress is a full-scale content management system (CMS) that can be used to create beautiful websites that are easy to navigate – both for website visitors and content creators. It was originally built as a blogging platform, so it’s easy to upload and update content (even for the technologically challenged). Whether your business has a physical location or an e-commerce store, WordPress is easily adapted to suit your business needs.
Yes! WordPress has an e-commerce plugin called WooCommerce, the most popular e-commerce platform on the web. It provides great services, powerful features, ability to take control over your whole site and design it for multi-purposes (not just shopping), if that’s what you’re after. It’s also easy to manage.
